Why Lekker
Your request goes into Instant Match on lekker.network — the same engine as Lekker Marketplace — so electricians with the right service areas can respond.
South Africa's MSME business OS behind the match.
Joburg Electrical helps you describe an electrical job in Johannesburg or wider Gauteng and send that request through Instant Match. The people who can reply are Lekker Network electricians who cover the area you named and who have opted in. This is not a call centre with its own vans, and it is not a shop with a counter. We do not publish a street address because there is no public premises to put on the page.
The work you might be asking about includes fault finding, a Certificate of Compliance for a sale or a rental, a distribution board that needs repair or more ways, new plug points, lighting, a stove or geyser connection, or the electrical side of a backup supply. The label you pick is sent with the lead so the electrician can see what you asked for. Hiring, price, and any certificate stay between you and the person you choose.
A Certificate of Compliance is the document a registered person signs after inspecting a permanent electrical installation. Sellers are often asked for one. It describes the installation as inspected. It is not a promise that nothing will fail later, and it is not something this website can print. If the board has no earth leakage, open joints, or a bridged breaker, a careful electrician will fail the inspection and price the repairs. Start with the certificate guide if that is the only reason you are asking.
The distribution board is the metal box with the main switch, the earth leakage, and the circuit breakers. Older Johannesburg houses sometimes still have rewirable fuses or a board with no spare way for a new circuit. A repair might be one tired breaker. A replacement is a bigger job that should be quoted after someone has seen the board, the cable sizes, and whether the supply is single phase or three phase. We do not guess a price from the suburb.
Fault finding means working out why power is missing or why a breaker will not stay up. A dead stove circuit is a different job from a street that City Power has switched off. Say what still works, what trips, and whether you smell burning. If the smell is coming from the board, switch off and wait for a person on site rather than resetting the same breaker all afternoon.
Sandton, Randburg, Roodepoort, Midrand, and Soweto each have their own electrician page, plus separate pages for certificates, distribution boards, and fault finding. The notes are different because the buildings are different: sectional-title cupboards in Sandton, older houses through Randburg, complexes along the western suburbs, estate rules in Midrand, and a wide mix of formal houses in Soweto. Those pages include the same Instant Match form, with the suburb filled in.
We did not add a page for every service in every suburb. A geyser connection in Bryanston and a geyser connection in Melville would have been the same paragraph with a name swapped, and that is not a page worth publishing. You can still choose those suburbs on the form. The guide stops where we had something specific to say.
Give your name, a phone number, and an email so the lead can be created. Pick the closest service, Gauteng, the City of Johannesburg unless you are elsewhere, and the suburb. In the details, write the symptom or the document you need, not a novel. Mention a body corporate, an estate, or a prepaid meter if that will change how the electrician gets access. Requesting the match is free. It is not a booking and not a quote.
WhatsApp on 081 373 6362 is optional if you would rather not use the form. The chat then sits on WhatsApp, not inside Instant Match. Either way, do not send a made-up person as a test. There is no test mode on the marketplace, and a submitted lead can be offered to a real electrician.
Yes. Asking Joburg Electrical to match your job does not add a fee from this website. You pay an electrician only if you hire them, on whatever price the two of you agree.
Matched Lekker Network electricians see the suburb and the description of the job. Your phone number and email stay on the lead and are not shared with those electricians unless you later choose to share them in Lekker Marketplace chat.
No. We do not promise a response time, a same-day visit, or an arrival window. Whether anyone replies depends on which electricians cover your suburb and have opted into Instant Match.
No. Joburg Electrical is a lead-gen site. A Certificate of Compliance is issued by a registered person after they inspect the permanent installation. If the installation does not comply, they should quote the remedial work instead of issuing the certificate. We do not inspect wiring and we do not issue the document.
If neighbours are dark as well, the fault is often on the municipal supply. An electrician matched from this site cannot switch City Power or Eskom back on. Use the form when the problem is inside your property: a breaker that will not stay up, part of the house dead, or a burning smell at your board.
Switch the main switch off if you can reach it without touching a hot or smoking board. Do not keep resetting a breaker that trips immediately, and do not pour water on the board. For a fire, shock, or injury, contact emergency services. This website is not an emergency dispatch desk.
We wrote separate guides for Sandton, Randburg, Roodepoort, Midrand, and Soweto, including certificate, distribution-board, and fault-finding pages. Other Johannesburg suburbs can still be selected on the form. We did not publish a page for every suburb-and-service pair, because a swapped suburb name is not a useful page.
No. This site is Joburg Electrical at joburgelectrical.co.za. Leads go to the Lekker Network marketplace. We do not redirect this brand to another electrical website.
