Fault finding in Midrand
Midrand faults often start the week an inverter is installed. Lights flicker, the earth leakage opens when the grid returns, or a neutral was borrowed from the wrong bar. Carlswald and Noordwyk townhouses are where we hear this, because backup was added into boards that were already full. If the fault did not exist before the inverter, write that. The electrician should look at the new work first, not replace the whole board on a hunch.
The other Midrand case is a single unit dead while the estate gate still has power. That is your board or your supply breaker in the passage, not the estate generator. Confirm a neighbour's lights. Estate management will not thank you for a generator call when the unit main is off.
When the grid returns
Some inverters trip the house at the moment council power comes back. Leave the inverter in bypass if the installer showed you how, and describe the moment of the trip. Do not open the inverter cabinet. Those terminals stay dangerous. The matched electrician may also tell you to call the original installer if the unit is still under their warranty.
Questions and answers
The fibre router dies but the lights stay on. Is that electrical?
It can be one socket or a small backup circuit. Say that only the router plug failed. It may also be the fibre network, which an electrician cannot repair on the street.
Our estate has its own electrician. Should I still use Instant Match?
If the rules say only their contractor may work, use them. This form is for when you are allowed to hire, and you want Lekker Network electricians who cover Midrand notified.
Can you test without entering the estate?
No. Fault finding is on site. Arrange access before you expect anyone to know the cause.
