COC certificate in Midrand
Midrand certificate requests often come from a townhouse sale where an inverter was added without a proper changeover. The estate in Carlswald, Noordwyk, or Vorna Valley may already have rules about backup power. The Certificate of Compliance still has to describe the installation that is there. If the inverter can back-feed the estate supply, expect a fail until that is corrected. Write the estate name and whether the inverter is official or was fitted quietly.
Access is the other half of a Midrand inspection. Guards, codes, and a trustee who must unlock a meter cupboard will waste the visit if you leave them out of the brief. We cannot phone the estate on your behalf as if we worked there. There is no Midrand office behind this form.
Unit versus estate supply
Your unit board may be in the kitchen while the supply breaker sits in a passage cupboard controlled by the body corporate. Say which cover you are allowed to have opened. An electrician should not force a common lock. If the sale agreement only asks for the unit, make that limit clear so the quote is not for the whole estate riser.

Will a Midrand estate accept any COC?
The estate may want their own form as well as the statutory certificate. Ask the managing agent. We only start the match for an electrician to inspect.
Does load-shedding damage show on a COC?
The inspection looks at the installation, not at a log of outages. Damage from a surge is relevant only if it left the wiring or the board unsafe.
Can you certify the solar panels on the roof?
The electrical connection and the board can be part of an electrical inspection. Panel structure and roof warranty are not this form. Say what the buyer actually asked for.
